Publisher's Description:

EasyBCD - EasyBCD is a powerful bootloader modification tool created to give end users complete control over everything that happens while Windows Vista starts up. It has the ability to set up multi- and dual-boot profiles for Windows Vista + Linux, BSD, Mac OS X, and many more operating systems. With EasyBCD, users can quickly and easily get other operating systems up and running with Windows Vista with minimal pain and effort.

EasyBCD allows users to backup and restore Vista bootloader settings (damage control), create automated MBR backups, add and remove entries from the Vista bootloader, change the BCD timeout period, rename entries, change the drives they point to, disable Windows Vista x64 driver signature checks, enable/disable NoExecute, PAE, and Debug mode for Windows.

With the ability to limit the amount of CPU and Memory available to the OS, EasyBCD becomes the first and most efficient line of defense when setting up a Windows Vista system - all the changes are done *before* Vista boots and are inivisible to the operating system and the programs on it.

EasyBCD is the only bootloader on the planet that gives end users full control over anything and everything that happens before their operating system boots, and supports more operating systems than any other bootloader on the planet.

With EasyBCD, users can configure Windows Vista to boot into Mac OS X, Linux, BSD, ReactOS, SkyOS, OS/2, Unix, Dos, legacy versions of Windows, alpha versions of Windows Longhorn, and even Windows Server 2000, 2003, and Longhorn with a single click of a button - absoloutely painless...... and free!

Very simple to install and use, and fixed the problem immediately. Wish all software was this straight-forward. Many thanks.

Not working for Windows XP. I wanted to fix my Vista boot from Windows XP...

I didn't see interface, I rate it medium.
It was very easy to see it not working, I rate it best.
It doesn't work in OS older then Vista, and that would be a feature - weak features rating!

Overall rating is my experience - minimal.

This was one of the best little utilities I have ever used. After struggling for 4 days to try and reorder a boot menu(Winxp and Win7 with Win 7 - the latter set as priority)and unable to do so - this programme sorted it out in moments. I could find no help on the net (other than modifying the boot.ini file, which did not work)so it was a godsend.

Thank you

I have XP and WIN 7 installed afterwards.
EasyBCD made very easy work of amending the boot criteria. Highly recommended.

The EasyBCD did not resolve my problem with a dual boot between win7 and xp. Sorry, but I had to use another program to fix the dual boot feature and recognise both win7 and xp.

Easy is right. I was lost in never never land with my first ever attempt to build a dual boot system. EasyBCD made one of the steps truly easy. It restored my Vista boot file with a click of the mouse button.

my Boot loader problem solved!

The interface is good, easy and user friendly.

My case using EasyBCD:

-My Hdd WDC 320gb SATA II
-Boot with miniPE and using Partition Magic to define partitions. 3 Primary partitions, 1 logical partition.
-Installing Windows XP on partition 1 of IDE 0 (primary partt, active, boot)
-Installing Windows 2003 Server on partition 2 of IDE 0 (primary partt) *just for testing purpose only ;)
-Installing Windows Vista on partition 4 of IDE 0 (primary partt)
-My data located on partition 3 of IDE 0

after vista installed, vista can't detected my XP installation. on Vista Boot Loader only listed 2003 and Vista.

Using EasyBCD, the problem solved.

Now, in my pc there are 3 Windows listed on Boot Loader.

EasyBCD to do list:
create a boot loader/manager without any vista installed :D and make it free of charge :D *gnu

thanks guys!

Problems booting Vista and XP

I am using Vista and I created a partition for XP but I still can't normally boot XP, I have to repair it everytime I want to use it. And when I want to get back to Vista, it's the same thing, it displays an error when booting, so that I need to repair it using Vista Installation DVD. So, if I can't fix this problem I'll probably just delete the partition I created for XP.

EasyBCD Test

After installing EasyBCD, I tried to set all of my disk that were bootable in the windows vista boot menu, but it fail. At this point I though that EasyBCD was not going to be of much use. After some more testing I found something that makes EasyBCD worth having. The windows vista utility 'bootsect.exe' cannot restore the windows vista 'MBR' very well. I found that EasyBCD can restore it without any problems, this makes EasyBCD a utility worth keeping around.
